Every time a new student joins a Catholic high school, our family grows!

During the 2024-2025 school year, the Knights of Columbus Council 3562 will offer up to 4 scholarships in amount of $1,000 each for graduating 8th grade students attending any Catholic high school. Student/family must be a member of one of the six parishes in Council 3562 territory. Check will be made payable to the Catholic high school with proceeds directed to the honored student’s financial balance sheet.

Mission Statement

Knights of Columbus Council 3562 Eighth Grade Scholarship Program is intended to:

• Support families who are members of parishes in Council 3562 territory
• Build enrollment and keep our Catholic high schools strong
• Promote and strengthen Catholic faith in our Council’s territory

Criteria for Scholarship

• Must be a parishioner of a Council 3562 church (see parish listing below)
• Acceptance to attend a Catholic high school
• Achievement in following areas:Academic achievement
• Commitment and involvement with parish community
• Extra-curricular activities in school and community
• Completion of Application
• 2 letters of recommendation (1 from school and 1 from your parish)

Enrollment and Submission

Open enrollment for the Scholarship Program will commence on February 1, 2025, with submission deadline April 1, 2025. Scholarship winners will be contacted May 1, 2025, by way of phone and/or email contact with the student’s parent listed on the Application. Scholarship Certificate will be formally handed to the student prior to their parish mass on a preselected Sunday (or Saturday evening) before the start of the fall school term or at the student’s 8th grade school graduation ceremony.

Completed scholarship application and 2 references (1 from your school and 1 from your church/parish) must be electronically submitted online or digitally emailed to [email protected] no later than 11:59pm, April 1, 2025. It is the applicant’s responsibility to find their two individuals and follow up with them to confirm the completion of their recommendation.

Awarded scholarship is a one-time event meant for transition from 8th grade to first year at a Catholic high school. There is no renewal or reapplication for years 2, 3, or 4.

Knights of Columbus Council 3562 reserves the right to determine the candidate or candidates who will receive the scholarship. Its decision is final.
